This is truly a wonderful “Gem” bag that becomes your own
personal design. Each one is totally different depending on your choice of jelly roll or scrap strips.
You will be using a printed interfacing template that comes with the pattern. If you choose to make more, you can purchase another package of 3 templates.
Below is the list of fabric supplies and helpful notions. If you need anything Harmony and Bonnie will be happy to help you in any way. Remember to bring your lunch or snacks and drink for the sewing days.

Fabric Supplies:
• Fabric scraps strips 1” to 3” W x 22”L - I used a jelly roll. Remember the more choices of fabric the more colorful your bag will be.
• 1⁄2 yard of Lining
• 2 yards - of 1” Woven Cotton Webbing. It must be Cotton Webbing.
• 3⁄4 yard - Side Panels, Binding and Straps
• 1 1/3 yard - Soft and Stable Foam
• 1⁄2” grommets – 4 count
• Perfect 60 Degree Ruler
Optional Fabric :
• Inside pocket fabric and pellon 101 – Two pieces of fabric 17”H X 16”W
• Magnet cover fabric and pellon 101 – One piece of fabric 5” X 7” that matches the lining
• Foam board for the bottom of bag – extra fabric to cover it
• The shop has all the grommet tools that you will need to install your 1⁄2” grommets to the bag

Tools Needed:
• Good working machine that can sew through multiple layers
• A walking foot comes in handy for quilting and sewing multiple layers, 1⁄4” foot and
machine stitch plates to match.
• Extension table for your sewing machine if you have one
• Several washable glue sticks
• Jean Needles 90/14
• Thread and bobbins that match fabrics
• Rotary cutter, straight pins, wonder Clips, and any other favorite tools you use
• Marking fabric tool that you can see on the fabric – frixion and chalk
• Small, good scissors – (Embroidery scissors)
• Hand needles for hand sewing the bottom if you chose
• Extra rulers 6” x 24”, large square like a 12 1⁄2 ” x 12 1⁄2” ruler,
and a small ruler like a 5” x 5”
• 505 spray adhesive – optional

     




**Cancellation policy: We understand that plans change, but due to the nature of our classes and the limited availability, cancellations can impact our ability to accommodate other participants. Therefore cancellations made up to 7 days prior to class day will be refunded 50%. Cancellations made after that will not be eligible for a refund. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another individual with prior notice.
