Hot & Heavy Bag



This is a wonderful bag to carry all your favorite notions and or irons to your next
class or retreat. There are two different sizes that come with the pattern. We will be making the large size in class. The large holds a large iron and the small one holds a small travel iron.
Harmony and Bonnie at the “Cuttin Up Quilt Shop” will be happy to help you with all your supply needs. Remember to bring your lunch, or snacks and drink.

Bag Supplies:
• 1 yard - Main fabric (for body, & outer pocket)
• 1 yard – Lining fabric (for body, and outer pocket linings)
• 1 yard – Coordinating fabric (bindings, handles, inner back slip pocket)
• 1 yard – 36” x 58” - Soft and Stable foam
• 3/8 yard – fusible interfacing (I use pellon 101)
• 5” x 21” - mesh fabric (inner front slip pocket)
• 1 1⁄4 yards – Fold-over Elastic (inside pocket binding)
• 2 3/8 yards - 1” polypro strapping
• 2 - D Rings or triangle rings – (1” – hardware)
• 5 3⁄4“ x 12” Base stabilizer – (clear acrylic, or foamboard)
• Template plastic or freezer paper to make full sized templates
• Optional 3⁄4” hook and loop tape for the optional Cord Wrap

Sewing Notions:
• Sewing machine in good working order that can sew multiple layers
• Extension table for your sewing machine if you have one
• Matching thread and bobbin thread
• Sewing Needles Jean 90/14
• Favorite removable marking pens: Chalk, frixion pens or favorite others
• Favorite Notions: Paper scissors, good fabric scissors, Stiletto (I use byAnnie)
Seam Ripper, Straight Pins, and lots of Wonder Clips (small and medium size)
• Rotary cutter with Sharp Blade
• Highlighter pen or pen to mark notes on pattern
• Rulers suggested: 6” x 24”, 20 1⁄2” x 20 1⁄2” or largest square ruler you have.
• Washable Glue
• 1⁄4” Double Stick Basting Tape – can be helpful for installing zippers
• Quick Turn - Fabric Tube Turning Tool
• Bodkin or large safety pin
• Painters Tape
• 505 adhesive - optional

**Cancellation policy: We understand that plans change, but due to the nature of our classes and the limited availability, cancellations can impact our ability to accommodate other participants. Therefore cancellations made up to 7 days prior to class day will be refunded 50%. Cancellations made after that will not be eligible for a refund. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your registration to another individual with prior notice.

Requirements: Please make sure and read through the description and things to have on hand, and come prepared to class.
