Instructor: Melissa Smith
Instructor Bio: Melissa is a passionate quilter and bag maker who finds joy in turning fabric into something both beautiful and functional. Growing up, she never described herself as artistic – pencils, paint and drawing weren’t her thing! But she just hadn’t found the right medium – FABRIC (and lots of it!). Melissa’s quilting journey began in 2019, spending her quarantined COVID days at home churning out projects. She was then bit by the “bag bug” and developed a newfound use for her fabric collection. From pouches to totes to duffle bags, Melissa loves the versatility of bag patterns and the instant gratification that comes with finishing a project usually within a day or two. “Zippers used to scare me – now we’re on a first-name basis.”
